A FAST-MOVING and unpredictable bushfire is burning towards Jilley Road in Gelorup.
Residents between Fowler Road, Ducane Road, Jilley Road and Railway Road in the Capel shire have been advised to keep up-to-date on the fire’s movements.
Ninety volunteer fire and rescue service, bush fire service and department of environment and conservation firefighters are on the scene.
They are using 24 firefighting appliances to stop the fire at Jilley Road.
Four fixed wing water bombers and three helicopters are assisting ground crews.
The fire started between Brookdale Road and South Western Highway and was reported about 12noon.
The cause of the fire is thought to be suspicious.
Motorists should avoid the area and be aware of fire and other emergency services personnel working on site.
